Help us build The Australian Light Horse Digital Collection....

Part of our Anthology will be the Australian Light Horse Digital Collection, a virtual museum dedicated to the Australian Light Horse.  We hope to reach all of the regional areas from which the Light Horsemen came and to bring their stories to light for the benefit of the wider community.  We also expect to be able to draw attention to the stories of those who helped and supported the Light Horse: at home and abroad; and both before and after the First World War.

Due to the complexities of photographing and processing artefacts and archives, the Foundation plans to launch the project with a number of small themed exhibitions, beginning with a simple collection of images depicting memorials across Australia and beyond that commemorate the Light Horse.

The virtual museum will extend the exhibition and display space in many of our existing museums.  It will also create a network between regional and urban museums and collections, between regional and urban communities.  There is immense potential for educational benefit from this project.

The Foundation is seeking expressions of interest from individuals, museums or army unit history rooms with collections of Light Horse archives and artefacts.  We are approaching the Australian War Memorial and the Shrine of Remembrance to join and assist us in this exciting venture.
